The Research and Ethics Committee is a sub-committee of the Academic Committee. It advises on ethical issues and approves ethics applications in research and in teaching programmes offered by NMIT.

Our Research and Ethics Committee ensures that all kaimahi and ākonga undertaking research at NMIT meet the ethical requirements set out in the NMIT Code of Ethical Conduct in Research.  

The committee also keeps up to date with any relevant topics in the research environment within NMIT and New Zealand and may advise the Academic Committee of any matters concerning research. 

Membership:  

The Research and Ethics Committee contains a Māori representative, representatives from the Research and Innovation Office, academics from each Degree programme area, the NMIT Animal Ethics Committee, and a student representative.
